Meet Gwendolyn: The Stitched-Up Star of Our Quilt Retreat!
If you’ve ever wandered up to our quilt retreat and thought, "Wow, this place could use a little more goose!"—well, great minds think alike. Enter Gwendolyn, the reigning queen of our porch, our official welcome committee, and possibly the most fashionable goose this side of the county.
Yes, she’s a plastic porch goose. But don’t let her hollow insides fool you—Gwendolyn is bursting with personality (and more outfit changes than a Broadway star).
A Goose with Style
Gwendolyn takes her wardrobe very seriously. Whether she’s rocking an apron covered in tiny quilt squares, a cozy flannel scarf, or an over-the-top bonnet that would make Little House on the Prairie jealous, she always brings her A-game. We once tried to leave her plain, but she gave us the coldest, most judgmental plastic stare imaginable. Lesson learned.
Guardian of the Retreat
Not only does Gwendolyn keep an eye on things, but she also serves as an unofficial quilt quality inspector. If she tips over in the wind, it means your stitching is too loose. If a bird perches on her head, it means your color choices are too inviting. And if she mysteriously disappears? Well, we’re not saying she walked off on her own, but… we wouldn’t put it past her.
A Goose with a Mission
Gwendolyn’s purpose is simple: to welcome quilters, bring a smile to their faces, and ensure that no retreat guest ever forgets the magic of a well-dressed porch goose. She insists that every quilter takes a photo with her before they leave (okay, we insist on her behalf), and she may or may not have her own Instagram account in the works.
